China Advisory Board

Our core team includes former senior executives with operating and investment experience in US and European multinational companies.  In most cases, this means that we led or managed China and related Asian operations for our companies – often after developing strategies for market entry. 

Beyond our general management roles, we have deep functional experience in marketing, finance, manufacturing, and human resources.  Our experience also spans a wide number of industries, including telecom, technology, manufacturing, financial services, energy, health care, retailing, and consumer products. 

Many of us have also held board director roles on the boards of private and public companies based in China. Not surprisingly, invitations to join these boards frequently originated because of corporate governance issues that required attention or even remediation – all of which provided us with a volume of experience

that is becoming increasingly relevant and useful to a broader swatch of companies now experiencing governance issues for the first time.

We intend to draw on our network of contacts when appropriate for our clients.  This includes other multinational executives with specific knowledge or expertise – and may also include Chinese executives and knowledgeable persons who can add to the quality of our strategic reviews.

Finally, we believe that our time living in China enables us to offer not only content but context, as well.  Knowing the answer is not always sufficient in China.  One must also understand the culture in order to achieve success.  This contextual feel is essential to progress and only comes about through lots of practice through many meetings, negotiations, and even a few quagmires.  We like to think that our clients might benefit from the scar tissue we have already acquired.
